About The Position

Arrow Senior Living is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Memory Care Homemaker to join our team at Rock Creek in Ankeny, IA. This part-time role focuses on creating a welcoming, comfortable, and tidy environment for residents in our memory care neighborhood. You will be involved in meal preparation and service, ensuring residents have access to snacks and hydration, and engaging residents in meaningful activities. We are looking for individuals who are at least 18 years old, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and can communicate effectively in English. A positive attitude, physical ability to perform the duties, and a willingness to assist residents are essential. This position requires a commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive atmosphere for our residents.

Requirements

At least eighteen (18) years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Professional appearance and conduct.
Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English at a minimum of 8th grade proficiency.
Positive and energetic attitude.
Active; requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day.
Ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
Ability to assist residents with sitting, standing, and walking.
Ability to assist persons after a fall.
Criminally cleared.

Responsibilities

Create an inviting, comfortable, homelike, and tidy atmosphere in memory care apartments and common areas.
Be present in the dining room to prepare and serve family-style dining.
Guide residents to participate in mealtime experiences, including setting tables and cleaning up together.
Ensure all residents are guided to snacks and hydration three times a day.
Engage residents and provide meaningful experiences as extra hands in the Neighborhood.
