About The Position

The Greater Waco YMCA is hiring an energetic, dependable, and articulate Member Service Representative for a fast-paced, family-oriented environment. This part-time role delivers excellent service to members, guests, and program participants and supports member retention. The representative handles phone calls, data entry, clerical work, and shift transactions; conducts facility tours and promotes membership; and helps members build connections with one another and the YMCA. Candidates must be available for assigned shifts that may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and at least 18 years of age.
• Excellent knowledge of computers and office software.
• Ability to multitask efficiently and work effectively under pressure.
• Punctuality, reliability, and availability to work assigned shifts.
• Neat appearance and good grooming.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to relate respectfully and effectively to diverse groups across the community’s social and economic segments.
• Ability to maintain a calm, professional presence when handling stressful or difficult situations.
• CPR/First Aid certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening, criminal history and sex offender checks, and reference checks.

Nice To Haves

• Cash-handling experience is preferred.
• Previous customer service, sales, or related experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent service to members, guests, and program participants, contributing to member retention.
• Answer phones professionally.
• Perform general data entry and clerical functions.
• Manage monies received during the shift and accurately record transactions.
• Complete the end-of-shift process by reconciling cash, check, and credit transactions to balance the shift report.
• Conduct facility tours responsive to prospective members’ needs while promoting YMCA membership.
• Build relationships with members and help them connect with one another and the YMCA.
