About The Position

Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey (GSNNJ) seeks a Membership Manager to support membership recruitment and retention, troop formation, and flexible ways for girls and families to participate in the Girl Scout experience. The primary area of responsibility is assigned Morris County Service Units and municipalities, with additional support for membership initiatives across the broader GSNNJ jurisdiction as needed. The manager will maintain and strengthen Morris County’s membership and volunteer engagement, identify opportunities for growth, and build relationships with schools, libraries, faith and community organizations, and other local partners. The role includes setting yearly county recruitment goals with a manager and tracking progress using council systems and reporting tools. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with volunteers, families, and colleagues across departments to achieve membership and council-wide goals.

Requirements

Strong relationship-building skills and experience working within communities, schools, volunteer-led organizations, or youth-serving nonprofits.
Strong communication skills, initiative, and adaptability.
Commitment to delivering results through an exceptional selling experience.
Ability to collaborate effectively with volunteers, families, and cross-functional staff to achieve membership goals.
A proactive, community-centered approach.

Nice To Haves

Prior Girl Scout knowledge is beneficial but not required.
Experience in community outreach, volunteer management, education, youth development, nonprofit organizations, customer engagement, or partnership development.

Responsibilities

Recruit and retain members across assigned Morris County Service Units and municipalities.
Support troop formation and expand visibility of opportunities beyond traditional troops.
Promote flexible ways for girls and families to engage in the Girl Scout experience.
Maintain and strengthen membership and volunteer engagement in Morris County while identifying opportunities for growth.
Cultivate relationships with schools, libraries, faith and community organizations, and other local partners.
Shape outreach and materials to welcome all families.
Set yearly recruitment goals for the county with a manager and track progress using council systems and reporting tools.
Support membership initiatives across the broader GSNNJ jurisdiction as needed.
Collaborate with colleagues in Community Engagement, Volunteer Engagement, Program, Troop Support, and other departments to achieve council-wide goals.
