About The Position

The Member Services Representative (MSR) is the first point of contact for members and guests at a Planet Fitness club. The role provides exceptional customer service, handles membership inquiries and transactions, and helps maintain a clean, comfortable, and friendly “Judgement Free Zone®” environment. The MSR supports a positive member experience through friendly, professional interactions, prompt assistance, and knowledge of club culture, policies, and procedures. This is an on-site, part-time overnight position.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must work on-site; the position is not remote.
Maintain an upbeat, professional, and positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
Be reliable, punctual, and dependable.
Interact with members and employees professionally, respectfully, and in a solutions-oriented manner.
Be committed to cleanliness and creating a positive member experience.
Be able to learn and apply company cleaning practices, policies, and procedures.
Be able to read and follow verbal and written instructions.
Obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification within company-required timeframes and be physically able to perform CPR/AED in an emergency.
Obtain tanning certification within company-required timeframes.
Submit to the required background check, including national criminal, sex offender registry, national security/terrorist watch list, and county criminal searches; continued employment depends on a satisfactory result.
Be able to meet the described physical demands, including prolonged standing and walking, frequent bending and other movements, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Be able to operate assigned equipment as needed and communicate verbally in person or by phone.
Have normal vision and hearing, with or without correction.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience working in a club fitness setting.
Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safety standards.
Bilingual English/Spanish skills are encouraged.

Responsibilities

Greet members, prospective members, and guests in a friendly, professional manner.
Provide outstanding customer service and respond promptly and courteously to member questions and concerns.
Assist members with account inquiries, changes, and billing questions.
Explain Planet Fitness memberships and amenities, give tours, assist with sign-ups, and promote membership specials and upgrades.
Meet or exceed membership and customer service goals.
Check members into the club using the point-of-sale system.
Answer phones professionally and efficiently.
Process memberships, cancellations, and payments accurately.
Follow assigned opening and closing procedures.
Inform the Assistant Manager or General Manager of issues as they arise.
Perform assigned cleaning duties and help keep restrooms, locker rooms, workout areas, and the rest of the facility clean and neat.
Return weights to their appropriate rack areas and regularly check that the club is clean, organized, and safe.
Refill cleaning stations and supplies as needed.
