About The Position

The Member Experience Representative is a frontline role serving members at Alabama Credit Union’s Orange Beach Branch in Orange Beach, Alabama. The representative welcomes and onboards members by opening accounts, assists with loan requests and financial transactions, and provides information about products and services that can meet members’ financial needs. Transactions include handling cash and other negotiable instruments, deposits and withdrawals, credit card payments, balance transfers, and debit card and check orders. The role calls for accurate, efficient work, strong attention to detail, and the ability to shift focus among multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. It also offers opportunities to build member relationships, provide service, and support the local community.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Customer service skills.
• Cash-handling experience or ability.
• Good computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office products and web-based applications.
• Ability to follow lengthy account-opening procedures.
• Ability to describe and sell products and services to members.
• Ability to change focus efficiently in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
• Attention to detail.
• Desire to help others in the community.
• Interpersonal skills for building relationships, soliciting cooperation, and handling confidential discussions with diplomacy and tact.

Nice To Haves

• One to three years of similar or related experience.
• Bilingual Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and onboard members by opening new accounts.
• Assist members with loan requests and financial transactions, including handling cash and other negotiable instruments.
• Accurately and efficiently conduct deposits, withdrawals, credit card payments, and balance transfers.
• Receive debit card and check orders.
• Explain and promote credit union products and services to help meet members’ financial needs.
• Build relationships with members and provide first-level conflict resolution when needed.
