About The Position

Brookdale is seeking a Medication Technician (also referred to as a Med Tech, QMAP, or Medication Aide/Tech) to administer medications and treatments, or assist residents with self-administration, as prescribed by health care providers and in accordance with state regulations and required training or certification. The role includes observing and reporting residents’ responses to a supervisor, maintaining the medication supply room, helping with medication cart audits, accurately counting medications, and coordinating medication deliveries with pharmacies. Requirements

Completion of required training or certification, based on state regulations.

Responsibilities

Administer or assist with self-administration of medications and treatments as prescribed by a health care provider, in accordance with state regulations and required training or certification.
Observe and report residents’ responses to medication or treatment to a supervisor.
Keep the medication supply room organized and clean.
Assist with medication cart audits.
Provide accurate counts of medications.
Communicate with pharmacies to coordinate medication delivery.
