About The Position

Medication Technicians (Med Tech – CNA/HCA) provide compassionate, direct care to residents, assisting with medication administration and activities of daily living in accordance with personalized medication and treatment plans. They work as part of a team to foster a supportive, nurturing environment and promote residents’ comfort, safety, and well-being.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid state CNA or HCA license, as required by state regulations.
Current First Aid and CPR license, or ability to obtain them.
Nurse Delegation and Diabetes Specialty Certificates, or willingness to obtain them within a prescribed period.
At least 12 months of experience administering medications in a professional caregiving setting.
Excellent attention to detail and high integrity.
Strong communication skills and a teamwork mindset.
Positive attitude, empathy, patience, and commitment to treating residents with dignity and respect.
Willingness to participate in weekend rotation.

Experience with memory care.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with daily administration of prescribed medication, including self-administration, as outlined in their individual care plans.
Follow documentation protocols and report changes in resident status.
Help manage medication inventory and proper storage, and coordinate medication reorders and deliveries with pharmacies as necessary.
Provide compassionate care and support with activities of daily living in a team setting as needed.
Promote residents’ independence and provide emotional support through ongoing engagement and companionship.
Encourage and assist residents to participate in life enrichment activities.
Promote open communication among healthcare professionals, families, residents, and staff.
