About The Position

Medication Technicians (Med Tech – CNA/HCA) provide compassionate, direct care to residents in a memory care setting. They assist residents with medication administration and activities of daily living in accordance with personalized medication and treatment plans, while helping foster a supportive and nurturing environment that promotes residents’ comfort, safety, and well-being.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid state CNA or HCA license, as required by state regulations.
Current First Aid and CPR license, or ability to obtain one.
Nurse Delegation and Diabetes Specialty Certificates, or willingness to obtain them within a prescribed period.
At least 12 months of experience administering medications in a professional caregiving setting.
Excellent attention to detail and high integrity.
Strong communication skills and a teamwork mindset.
Positive attitude, empathy, patience, and commitment to treating residents with dignity and respect.
Willingness to participate in a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with daily administration of prescribed medication, including self-administration, as outlined in their individual care plans.
Follow documentation protocols and report changes in residents’ status.
Help manage medication inventory and proper storage, and coordinate medication re-orders and deliveries with pharmacies as necessary.
Provide compassionate care and support with activities of daily living as needed in a team setting.
Promote residents’ independence and provide emotional support through ongoing engagement and companionship.
Encourage and assist residents to participate in life enrichment activity programs.
Promote open communication among healthcare professionals, families, residents, and staff.
