About The Position

Cogir Senior Living is seeking a Medication Technician (Med Tech – CNA/HCA) to provide compassionate, direct care to residents. The role assists with medication administration and activities of daily living in accordance with each resident’s personalized medication and treatment plans. Medication Technicians work as part of a team to foster a supportive, nurturing environment and promote residents’ comfort, safety, and well-being.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid state CNA or HCA license, as required by state regulations.
Current First Aid and CPR license, or ability to obtain one.
Nurse Delegation and Diabetes Specialty Certificates, or willingness to obtain them within a prescribed period.
At least 12 months of experience administering medications in a professional caregiving setting.
Excellent attention to detail and high integrity.
Strong communication skills and a teamwork mindset.
Positive attitude, empathy, patience, and commitment to treating residents with dignity and respect.
Willingness to participate in a weekend rotation.

Nice To Haves

Experience with memory care.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with daily administration of prescribed medication, including self-administration, as outlined in individual care plans.
Follow documentation protocols and report changes in residents’ status.
Help manage medication inventory and proper storage, and coordinate medication reorders and deliveries with pharmacies as needed.
Provide compassionate support with residents’ activities of daily living in a team setting as needed.
Promote residents’ independence and provide emotional support through engagement and companionship.
Encourage and assist residents in participating in life enrichment activity programs.
Promote open communication among healthcare professionals, families, residents, and staff.
