About The Position
The Medication Technician/C.N.A assists licensed nursing staff by preparing and administering daily medications as ordered by a physician. Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, the Med Tech documents within the role’s limitations in the electronic health record. The role also responds to resident requests and performs other direct care duties as assigned. The position is designated as safety sensitive. Flu vaccination is a condition of employment, except where an accommodation is approved; vaccines are offered free of charge.
Requirements
- Hold a valid, active Arkansas C.N.A. license in good standing.
- Complete a state-approved nursing assistant training program.
- Successfully complete state-approved Medication Administration training and hold medication aide certification.
- Flu vaccination is a condition of employment, except for an approved accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and administer daily medications as ordered by a physician.
- Document within the role’s limitations in the electronic health record under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
- Respond to resident requests.
- Perform other direct care duties as assigned.
