Medication Tech (CMT or QMA)
About The Position
Priority Life Care is seeking a CMT (Certified Medication Tech) and/or QMA (Qualified Medication Aide) to provide care and medical assistance to residents. Medication Aides administer medications, monitor residents for reactions, and follow procedures in accordance with state and federal regulations. The role involves maintaining familiarity with residents’ medical records and medication administration records, documenting care and incidents, preparing reports, and communicating issues to a direct supervisor. Candidates must hold the medication-dispensing certification required for the state and be available to work weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Medication-dispensing certification required for the given state.
- At least 1 year of experience.
- Prior experience in long-term care, home health, or a related service industry.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Connect with residents and ensure they receive appropriate care and medical assistance.
- Accurately prepare and administer medications in compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Stay familiar with residents’ medical records and medication administration records.
- Document vital signs, medication administration, resident behaviors associated with medication administration, medication incidents and accidents, and facility incidents and accidents.
- Prepare verbal and written reports regarding successful or unsuccessful medication administration.
- Report issues or problems to the direct supervisor.
