About The Position
Priority Life Care (PLC) is seeking Certified Medication Techs (CMTs) and/or Qualified Medication Aides (QMAs) to provide care to residents in senior care. Medication Aides administer medications, monitor residents for reactions, and follow procedures outlined by state and federal regulations. They are expected to be courteous, friendly coworkers who support PLC’s mission to provide senior care with respect for affordability and independence. The position is offered as full-time and PRN. The stated pay is $16.50 per hour. Weekend and holiday availability is required.
Requirements
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Medication dispensing certification for the applicable state.
- At least one year of experience.
- Prior experience in long-term care, home health, or a related service industry.
- Weekend and holiday availability.
Responsibilities
- Build connections with residents and ensure they receive appropriate care and medical assistance.
- Prepare and administer medications accurately in compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Remain familiar with residents’ medical records and medication administration records.
- Document vital signs, medication administration, resident behaviors associated with medication administration, medication incidents and accidents, and facility incidents and accidents.
- Prepare verbal and written reports about successful or unsuccessful medication administration.
- Report issues or problems to the direct supervisor.
