Medication Tech (CMT or QMA)
About The Position
Priority Life Care is seeking Certified Medication Tech (CMT) and/or Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) Medication Aides to provide care and medical assistance to residents. The role includes preparing and administering medications, monitoring residents for medication reactions, and following applicable procedures and state and federal regulations. Medication Techs document medication administration and related resident information, prepare verbal and written reports, and report issues to their direct supervisor. The role requires weekend and holiday availability. The position pays $16.50 per hour and is offered as full-time and PRN.
Requirements
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Medication disbursement certification for the given state.
- At least one year of experience.
- Prior experience in long-term care, home health, or a related service industry.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Build connections with residents and help ensure they receive appropriate care and medical assistance.
- Accurately prepare and administer medications in compliance with related policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Remain familiar with residents’ medical records and medication administration records.
- Document vital signs, medication administration, resident behaviors associated with medication administration, medication incident and accident reports, and facility incident and accident reports.
- Prepare verbal and written reports concerning successful or unsuccessful medication administration.
- Report issues or problems to the direct supervisor.
