About The Position

The Medication Care Manager, also described as a Medication Aide/Med Tech, ensures residents receive medications and treatments safely, accurately, and with dignity. The role helps prevent medication errors, identify health changes early, and protect resident safety through attention to detail and regulatory compliance. Duties include administering medications and treatments according to physician orders, documenting care, observing residents, reporting concerns, completing narcotic counts, and maintaining medication areas and equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Medication Administration certification.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Senior care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
• Follow the Six Rights of Medication Administration.
• Document in the MAR/TAR accurately and in real time.
• Observe residents during and after medication passes.
• Monitor symptoms and administer ordered medications for symptom relief.
• Promptly report medication refusals or concerns.
• Complete narcotic counts according to policy.
• Maintain clean, organized medication carts and rooms.
• Follow infection control and safety standards.
