About The Position

The Medication Assistant supports residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care by assisting with medication needs and related documentation. The role also helps residents with activities of daily living and provides basic health support, including taking vital signs, first aid, and wound care. The Medication Assistant communicates with outside health care professionals as necessary, transports residents within the community, and responds promptly and safely to emergency calls, resident or visitor requests, and environmental hazards. This is a full-time position.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet all state educational requirements for the position.

Nice To Haves

• CPR certification is preferred.
• Experience working with an elderly population is preferred.
• A calm, helpful, and respectful countenance is appreciated.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, order, and assist residents with medication needs.
• Transcribe and document information in the Medication Assistance Record.
• Assist residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care with activities of daily living, vital signs, first aid, and wound care.
• Communicate with outside health care professionals as necessary.
• Transport residents within the community to activities, other departments, or dining.
• Respond to emergency calls, resident and/or visitor requests, and environmental hazards in a timely, appropriate, and safe manner.
