About The Position

The Medication Assistant supports residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care by assisting with medication needs and activities of daily living. The role includes taking vital signs, providing first aid and wound care, and communicating with outside health care professionals as necessary. The Medication Assistant also transports residents within the community and responds to emergency calls, resident and visitor requests, and environmental hazards in a timely, appropriate, and safe manner. The position is full-time and paid hourly.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet all state educational requirements for the position.

Nice To Haves

• CPR certification.
• Experience working with an elderly population.
• A calm, helpful, and respectful countenance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, order, and assist residents with medication needs.
• Transcribe and document information in the Medication Assistance Record.
• Assist residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care with activities of daily living, vital signs, first aid, and wound care.
• Communicate with outside health care professionals as necessary.
• Transport residents within the community to activities, other departments, or dining.
• Respond to emergency calls, resident and visitor requests, and environmental hazards in a timely, appropriate, and safe manner.
