About The Position

The Medication Assistant supports residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care by maintaining, ordering, and assisting with medication needs. The role also involves transcribing and documenting in the Medication Assistance Record; assisting with activities of daily living, vital signs, first aid, and wound care; and communicating with outside health care professionals as necessary. The Medication Assistant transports residents within the community and responds promptly and appropriately to emergency calls, resident or visitor requests, and environmental hazards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet all state educational requirements for the position.

Nice To Haves

• CPR certification preferred.
• Experience working with an elderly population preferred.
• A calm, helpful, and respectful countenance is appreciated.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, order, and assist residents with medication needs.
• Transcribe and document in the Medication Assistance Record.
• Assist residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care with activities of daily living, taking vital signs, first aid, and wound care.
• Communicate with outside health care professionals as necessary.
• Transport residents within the community to activities, other departments, or dining.
• Respond to emergency calls, resident and/or visitor requests, and environmental hazards in a timely, appropriate, and safe manner.
