Medication Assistant, Assisted Living
About The Position
The Medication Assistant supports residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care by maintaining, ordering, and assisting with medication needs. The role also involves assisting with activities of daily living, taking vital signs, providing first aid and wound care, and communicating with outside health care professionals as necessary. The position transports residents within the community and responds promptly and safely to emergency calls, requests from residents or visitors, and environmental hazards. This is a full-time role with a variable schedule and required weekend availability. Compensation is $18–$20 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Meet all state educational requirements for the position.
- A calm, helpful, and respectful countenance is appreciated.
Nice To Haves
- CPR certification preferred.
- Experience working with an elderly population preferred.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, order, and assist residents with medication needs.
- Transcribe and document information in the Medication Assistance Record.
- Assist residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care with activities of daily living, vital signs, first aid, and wound care.
- Communicate with outside health care professionals as necessary.
- Transport residents within the community to activities, other departments, or dining.
- Respond to emergency calls, resident and visitor requests, and environmental hazards in a timely, appropriate, and safe manner.
