About The Position

The Medication Assistant supports residents in assisted living and potentially Memory Care with medication needs and daily care. Responsibilities include maintaining and ordering medications, assisting residents with medications, documenting medication assistance, helping with activities of daily living and basic health needs, transporting residents within the community, and responding appropriately to emergencies and requests. The position is full-time and overnight.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet all state educational requirements for the position.

Nice To Haves

• CPR certification is preferred.
• Experience working with an elderly population is preferred.
• A calm, helpful, and respectful countenance is appreciated.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, order, and assist residents with medication needs.
• Transcribe and document information in the Medication Assistance Record.
• Assist residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care with activities of daily living, vital signs, first aid, and wound care.
• Communicate with outside health care professionals as necessary.
• Transport residents within the community to activities, other departments, or dining.
• Respond to emergency calls, resident and visitor requests, and environmental hazards in a timely, appropriate, and safe manner.
