About The Position

The Medication Assistant supports residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care with medication needs and daily care. The role includes maintaining, ordering, transcribing, and documenting medications; assisting with activities of daily living and basic health needs; transporting residents within the community; and responding safely and appropriately to requests, emergencies, and environmental hazards. The schedule is full-time, 10 p.m.–6 a.m. on varied days.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet all state educational requirements for the position.

Nice To Haves

• CPR certification preferred.
• Experience working with an elderly population preferred.
• A calm, helpful, and respectful countenance is appreciated.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and order medications and assist residents with medication needs.
• Transcribe and document information in the Medication Assistance Record.
• Assist residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care with activities of daily living, vital signs, first aid, wound care, and communication with outside health care professionals as necessary.
• Transport residents within the community to activities, other departments, or dining.
• Respond to emergency calls, resident and visitor requests, and environmental hazards in a timely, appropriate, and safe manner.
