Medication Assistant, Assisted Living
About The Position
The Medication Assistant supports residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care by maintaining, ordering, and assisting with medication needs. The role includes transcribing and documenting information in the Medication Assistance Record, helping residents with activities of daily living, taking vital signs, providing first aid and wound care, and communicating with outside health care professionals as necessary. The Medication Assistant transports residents within the community to activities, other departments, or dining, and responds to emergency calls, resident and visitor requests, and environmental hazards in a timely, appropriate, and safe manner. This is a full-time position with a variable schedule and required weekend availability.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Meet all state educational requirements for the position.
Nice To Haves
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Experience working with an elderly population is preferred.
- A calm, helpful, and respectful countenance is appreciated.
Responsibilities
