Medication Assistant, Assisted Living
About The Position
The Medication Assistant supports residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care by maintaining, ordering, and assisting with medication needs. The role includes transcribing and documenting information in the Medication Assistance Record, helping residents with activities of daily living, taking vital signs, providing first aid and wound care, and communicating with outside health care professionals as necessary. The Medication Assistant also transports residents within the community and responds promptly and safely to emergency calls, resident and visitor requests, and environmental hazards. This is a full-time position with shifts from 7 a.m.–3 p.m., 3–11 p.m., and 11 p.m.–7 a.m., on varied weekdays and every other weekend. Compensation starts at $19.00 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Meet all state educational requirements for the position.
Nice To Haves
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Experience working with an elderly population is preferred.
- A calm, helpful, and respectful countenance is appreciated.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, order, and assist residents with medication needs.
