About The Position

The Medication Assistant supports residents with medication needs and provides assistance with daily living and other care in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care. The role includes documenting medication assistance, monitoring residents for changes in physical or mental condition, transporting residents within the community, and responding appropriately to emergencies, requests, and environmental hazards. This is a full-time position with all shifts available.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet all state educational requirements for the position.

Nice To Haves

• CPR certification is preferred.
• Experience working with an elderly population is preferred.
• A calm, helpful, and respectful countenance is appreciated.
• Experience with dementia patients is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, order, and assist residents with medication needs.
• Transcribe and document information in the Medication Assistance Record.
• Assist Assisted Living residents and potentially Memory Care residents with activities of daily living, vital signs, first aid, wound care, and communication with outside health care professionals as necessary.
• Observe changes in residents’ physical or mental states and report changes to leadership.
• Transport residents within the community to activities, other departments, or dining.
• Respond to emergency calls, resident and visitor requests, and environmental hazards in a timely, appropriate, and safe manner.
