About The Position

The Medication Assistant supports residents with medication needs and provides assistance with daily living and basic care in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care. The role includes documenting medication assistance, monitoring residents for changes in physical or mental condition, responding to requests and emergencies, and helping residents move around the community. The schedule is PRN, with all shifts available.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet all state educational requirements for the position.

Nice To Haves

• CPR certification.
• Experience working with an elderly population.
• A calm, helpful, and respectful countenance.
• Experience with dementia patients.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and order medications and assist residents with medication needs.
• Transcribe and document information in the Medication Assistance Record.
• Assist residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care with activities of daily living, vital signs, first aid, wound care, and communication with outside health care professionals as necessary.
• Observe changes in residents’ physical or mental state and report changes to leadership.
• Transport residents within the community to activities, other departments, or dining.
• Respond to emergency calls, resident and visitor requests, and environmental hazards in a timely, appropriate, and safe manner.
