Medication Aide (CNA required) - PRN (As Needed) - Eventide Prairie Commons
About The Position
Eventide Prairie Commons in Grand Island is hiring a PRN (as-needed) Medication Aide (MA40). The scheduled requirement is at least 24 hours per month, including 16 weekend hours, and one required holiday per year. The position requires active, good-standing MA40 and CNA licenses in Nebraska. The Medication Aide assists seniors or clients with activities of daily living, follows their comprehensive care or service plans, completes documentation, and adapts priorities to changing needs. When working as an MA40, the aide prepares and administers medications and treatments under RN direction, within scope of practice, as ordered by a physician and according to facility policies and procedures. The pay range is $19.00–$21.28 per hour, based on qualifications, experience, and location. Shift premiums and differentials are available for select positions, depending on employment status and shift worked.
Requirements
- Active CNA license in the state of Nebraska.
- Active MA40 license in the state of Nebraska, in good standing.
- At least 18 years of age.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Six months of experience as an aide or caregiver.
Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, transferring or ambulation, and continence.
- Assist with senior or client admissions, discharges, transfers, and orientation of new employees.
- Submit completed documentation according to department protocol.
- Prioritize assignments and adjust throughout the shift to respond to changing or overlapping needs, including call lights.
- Perform position-related duties in the assigned work environment as assigned by Eventide.
- Follow the comprehensive care plan or service plan developed for each senior or client.
- Safeguard protected health information and comply with HIPAA privacy regulations.
- Prepare and administer medications and treatments under RN direction, within scope of practice, as ordered by a physician and according to facility policies and procedures.
