About The Position

Grand Canyon University (GCU) partners with nonprofit organizations identified by the IRS as 501(c)(3) to improve the quality of life for community residents. GCU has a partnership with The Neighborhood Christian Clinic, which provides medical and dental healthcare to the uninsured and underserved community. This CSLP student worker position is approved as Community Service, offering services to non-GCU community members. All FWS and FWS-CSLP positions require applicants to complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be reviewed for FWS-eligibility and awarded FWS. The work schedule is dependent on the Clinic's hours of operation and needs, with a maximum of 20 hours per week during the academic year.

Requirements

• Must be bilingual (Spanish and English)
• Have passion and willingness to help others succeed
• Possess strong ethics, integrity, and sense of responsibility
• Must have reliable transportation
• Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a bachelor’s program or master’s program
• Maintain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student
• Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University

Responsibilities

• Fill prescriptions for patients on-site
• Assist patients with Patient Assistant Program applications and follow through
• Manage medication room, keeping clean and orderly
• Manage physician sampling programs
• Develop and disseminate patient resources to patients
• Assist with medication ordering, inventory, and repacking
• Room patients and other duties as assigned
