About The Position

Oak Street Health Clinical Informatics Specialists (CIS), also known as Medical Scribes, support primary care providers with clinical documentation. Each scribe is paired with one provider and joins them in the exam room, during team huddles, and in preparing post-visit summaries. Scribes receive training in Oak Street Health’s value-based care model, ICD-10 and CPT coding, electronic medical records, and population health. Their work helps the interdisciplinary team identify and close care gaps, support preventative measures for chronic conditions, and provide a positive patient experience. This paid, full-time position provides clinical exposure and experience with chronic disease management and patient care workflows. It is intended for people pursuing further healthcare education or careers, and successful candidates should be prepared to commit at least one year, with two or more years strongly preferred.
