The Medical Scheduler assists staff and physicians by scheduling patients for appropriate follow-up appointments and necessary tests and procedures. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED/equivalent.

- Two years of scheduling experience in a multi-specialty clinic.
Responsibilities
- Schedule follow-up and return visits to the office for patients.
- Obtain pre-certifications and pre-authorizations as needed.
- Schedule medical tests and procedures for patients, including interventional invasive cardiology procedures and electrophysiology procedures.
- Discuss procedure instructions with patients to ensure they understand what is expected.
- Call patients to schedule procedures and provide instructions by phone, with a follow-up letter containing instructions.
- Use Allscripts, Centricity Business, online paging systems, and retrieve information from other hospital systems.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Exhibit friendly and helpful behavior.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
- Comply with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
