About The Position

Texas Orthopedics, a division of OrthoLoneStar, is hiring a Medical Receptionist / Front Desk team member for its Kyle, Texas location. The role performs reception-area duties, primarily checking patients in and out, scheduling new and follow-up appointments, verifying insurance benefits, and collecting payments due at the time of service. The position supports patient-facing clinic operations and coordinates scheduling, communications, records, and payment tasks with patients and other departments.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Previous experience in a medical office setting.
Computer experience.
Fluent in Spanish (required).
Knowledge of medical and insurance terminology.
Attention to detail.
Ability to multitask between multiple applications.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Adequate visual acuity to read and ability to interpret and understand written material.
Ability to handle multiple tasks continuously and work as part of a team.
Ability to frequently perform tedious and exacting work in high-volume conditions with frequent changes in tasks.

Responsibilities

Answer telephone calls, schedule appointments, and redirect callers to appropriate departments as needed.
Schedule and reschedule patient appointments, including physical therapy, while observing insurance rules, limitations, and physician preferences.
Confirm appointments in advance and contact patients when needed.
Prepare clinic schedules and identify potential issues before patient visits.
Greet patients, check them in, and help them complete intake forms.
Confirm, capture, and correct patient demographic and insurance information.
Verify insurance and benefits, identify remaining deductibles and copays, and collect payments due according to benefits and information in the EHR or other applicable software.
Collect and scan patients’ insurance cards and photo identification.
Mail no-show letters daily.
Review daily superbills for completeness, make necessary edits, and collect the proper payment at checkout.
Balance received payments and prepare the daily deposit.
Complete scheduling tasks, messages, requests, referrals, and faxes.
Return voicemails and make second and third attempts to reach patients who left messages.
Provide and explain explanations of benefits (EOBs) to patients as needed.
Fax DWC forms to the appropriate recipients.
Sort and identify medical information for scanning or queuing into the EMR system.
Sort faxes, address fax failures, and distribute faxes to appropriate departments as needed.
Assist with Release of Information requests by completing them in-office or sending them to a third party.
Perform other duties as assigned.
