About The Position

Catholic Health Physician Practices is seeking a Medical Assistant who is passionate about patient care and works well in a team-oriented environment. The role combines clinical and administrative responsibilities and supports compassionate, clinically excellent service throughout the patient experience. The Medical Assistant helps prepare the practice for the day, supports patient flow and care, assists providers with procedures and testing, processes specimens, and provides front-desk coverage as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma and/or GED.
Graduation from a NYS-accredited Medical Assistant program.
BCLS certification through in-person training from the American Heart Association.
Strong clinical skills, including phlebotomy and aseptic technique.
A team-first attitude and commitment to providing respectful, quality care.

Nice To Haves

Current Medical Assistant certification, such as NHA, AMT, AAMA, or NCCT.

Responsibilities

Prepare exam rooms by sanitizing and stocking supplies, and ensure medications and vaccines are ready for the day.
Review upcoming appointments and identify gaps in care, including mammograms, colonoscopies, and immunizations.
Escort patients to rooms and manage patient flow to maximize efficiency.
Take and record vital signs, patient history, allergies, medications, and current concerns.
Assist with procedures, including EKGs, Holter monitors, and in-office testing.
Collect and process lab specimens, and track and document results.
Perform quality control on equipment and testing materials.
Help at the front desk as needed by greeting patients, answering phones, and verifying insurance.
Collaborate with providers and the care team to support the best patient outcomes.
