Medical Laboratory Scientist I-Generalist
About The Position
Quest Diagnostics is recruiting a Medical Laboratory Scientist I-Generalist for its laboratory in Arlington, Texas. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with rotational weekends. The role performs clinical laboratory testing, handles and processes specimens, reviews and releases test results, and maintains patient and proficiency-testing records in accordance with laboratory procedures and applicable regulations. The listed pay starts at $29.50 per hour. Employees may be eligible for shift differentials and annual performance bonus compensation.
Requirements
- A BS in Medical Technology is preferred; alternatively, a BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, an associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or prior qualification as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.
- One year of clinical experience in high-complexity testing is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results.
- Maintain records demonstrating that proficiency-testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
- Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
- Review and release test results.
- Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines.
- Follow established laboratory policies and procedures when test systems are outside acceptable performance levels.
- Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of results, correct encountered problems, or immediately notify the senior technologist or supervisor.
