About The Position

Baptist Health is hiring a full-time Medical Lab Assistant II for the Outpatient Laboratory at Baptist Medical Center South. The position works in the MOB2 Lab on the day shift, Monday through Friday, from 8:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. The role involves specimen processing and phlebotomy, with daily face-to-face patient interaction. The candidate must have phlebotomy experience, excellent customer service skills, and comprehensive computer skills.

Requirements

• Phlebotomy experience is required.
• Excellent customer service skills for face-to-face patient interactions.
• Comprehensive computer skills.
• Less than one year of Medical Laboratory Assistant experience.
• High school diploma required.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform clerical and technical duties associated with pre- and post-analytical handling of laboratory specimens and results.
• Communicate laboratory results and respond to specimen-related questions from physicians and other caregivers.
• Collect blood specimens for routine and special laboratory procedures.
• Use computer functions.
