About The Position
Baptist Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join its Baptist Primary Care - Internal Medicine office at Baptist South Internal Medicine in Jacksonville, Florida. This full-time role performs back-office medical assistant duties, including rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, maintaining accurate medical documentation, and assisting the provider in a busy office. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of patient care experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in a physician’s office.
- Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree.
- Certified Medical Assistant credential.
Responsibilities
- Provide medical assistance to physicians and other healthcare providers.
- Room patients and obtain vital signs.
- Greet and chaperone patients during medical visits.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical documentation.
- Schedule patient care, treatments, and diagnostic tests as directed by the physician.
- Process prescription requests and referrals.
- Support daily clinical operations to ensure efficient patient flow and quality patient care.
