About The Position
Baptist Health is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for its Baptist Primary Care - Internal Medicine office at Baptist South Internal Medicine in Jacksonville, Florida. The role performs back-office medical assistant duties, including rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, maintaining accurate medical documentation, and assisting providers in a busy office. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of patient care experience.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in a physician’s office is preferred.
- Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree preferred.
- Certified Medical Assistant credential preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provides medical assistance to physicians and other healthcare providers.
- Rooms patients and obtains vital signs.
- Greets and chaperones patients during medical visits.
- Maintains accurate and complete medical documentation.
- Schedules patient care, treatments, and diagnostic tests as directed by the physician.
- Processes prescription requests and referrals.
- Supports daily clinical operations to ensure efficient patient flow and quality patient care.
