About The Position
Baptist Health is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant for its Baptist Rheumatology South office in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a full-time position, scheduled from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The ideal candidate will perform back-office medical assistant duties, including rooming patients, assisting providers, and obtaining vital signs. Experience is preferred.
Requirements
- More than 5 years of patient care experience.
- Experience in a physician's office.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Nice To Haves
- Associate's degree.
- Experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing assistance to physicians.
- Obtain vital signs.
- Greet and chaperone patients during medical visits.
- Perform telephone triage.
- Educate patients.
- Maintain medical documentation.
- Schedule care, treatment, and diagnostic tests as directed by physicians.
- Process CLIA-waived tests, prescription requests, and referrals.
- Cross-train in front office, referrals, and other areas, such as family practice and pediatrics.
