About The Position

The medical equipment coordinator/manager is responsible for ensuring the successful coordination and installation of all medical equipment for the entirety of the project. This spans from preconstruction and material release to commissioning and closeout. The role requires collaborating and creating positive relationships with many stakeholders, including the owner, end users, design team, subcontractors, and vendors. In this role, you will ensure that all material is released on time, the spaces are ready for their arrival, and all utilities and requirements are in place to meet the project schedule. Your goal is to ensure a seamless transition to occupancy for the owner and their end users.

Nice To Haves

  • 8+ years of healthcare construction experience that involved medical equipment coordination
  • Past project experience with HCAI is preferred
  • Past project experience working with medical equipment vendors such as Steris, Stryker, Hillrom, HSI, GE, is preferred
  • OSHA 10, LEED accreditation preferred, DBIA certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the Master Equipment Log through completion. This log tracks all medical equipment that is expected to be installed at some point on the project, inclusive of all owner/vendor furnished and contractor-furnished items, regardless of who is installing
  • Incorporate and organize information provided by owner representatives, the design team, subcontractor input, owner end users, and owner vendors
  • Analyze log data to provide key milestones and timelines for critical decisions or actions by all parties
  • Build out key utility requirements for each line item and/or systems and additional characteristics that are to be tracked over time
  • Work with the lead project manager to provide comprehensive and succinct weekly updates regarding medical equipment progress to key owners and design team stakeholders
  • Work with the lead project superintendent to ensure that the Master Equipment Log is coordinated with the monthly schedule updates, and provide this feedback to key owner stakeholders and relevant subcontractors
  • Work with and lead project engineer(s) to assist in coordinating equipment validation
  • Develop detailed delivery, path of travel, and logistics execution plans in conjunction with the contract documents, vendors, the project schedule, and the project superintendent
