About The Position

Rapid Medical is a tech-forward logistics partner for labs, clinics, and health systems, operating across various states and managing thousands of daily stops. This independent contractor route runs from Reseda, California, to Irvine, California, covers approximately 70 miles, and operates on Saturdays from 10:30 p.m. to approximately 1:30 a.m. The estimated route duration is three hours. The listed rate is $100 per route, with mileage, drive time, and expenses included; there is no separate per-mile pay. Contractors located within 15 miles of the start point, end point, or anywhere along the route are well-suited for the position.

The courier uses a driver app for navigation, scheduling, and real-time support; photographs pickups and deliveries and logs proof of delivery; handles specimens carefully and maintains the required temperature; and promptly contacts dispatch about damaged, improperly packaged, or otherwise concerning items. Rapid Medical provides a branded shirt and bag, onboarding and protocol training, a route preview, and dispatch support. Contractors must pass a satisfactory background check and motor vehicle record review and are responsible for self-employment taxes. A 1099-NEC is issued for payments made.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years old.
• Have a personal vehicle; a 2016 or newer vehicle is preferred.
• Have a valid driver's license and active insurance.
• Have a satisfactory driving record, subject to MVR review, and pass a satisfactory background check.
• Have a smartphone running iOS 13 or later or Android 11 or later, with reliable data.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Be reliable and punctual, detail-oriented, communicative, and comfortable adjusting as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Delivery, rideshare, or courier experience is a plus but is not required.
• A 2016 or newer personal vehicle is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use the driver app for navigation, scheduling, and real-time support while completing route stops.
• Photograph pickups and deliveries and record proof of delivery through the app.
• Handle specimens carefully and maintain the required room, refrigerated, or frozen temperature.
• Contact dispatch promptly if an item appears damaged, improperly packaged, or otherwise concerning.
• Complete the Saturday route from Reseda to Irvine.
