About The Position

Rapid Medical is a tech-forward logistics partner for labs, clinics, and health systems. This independent-contractor courier route runs from Reseda to Irvine, California, on Sundays. The route covers approximately 70 miles, starts at 10:00 PM, and is estimated to take about two hours and ten minutes (ending around 12:10 AM). Contractors located within 15 miles of the start point, end point, or along the route are well-suited.

The all-inclusive rate is $85 per route, with mileage, drive time, and expenses factored in; there is no separate per-mile pay. Weekly bonuses of $20–$100 may be available. A $150 sign-on bonus is paid after 30 active days with no call-offs, and a training bonus is paid after 30 days with no call-offs. Payments are made by bi-weekly direct deposit or same-day cash-out, for which fees may apply.

Couriers use a driver app for navigation, scheduling, and real-time support; photograph pickups and deliveries and log proof of delivery; handle specimens carefully and maintain required temperatures; and promptly contact dispatch about damage, improper packaging, or other concerns. Rapid Medical provides a branded shirt and bag, onboarding and protocol training, a route preview, and dispatch support. Contractor engagements require satisfactory background and motor vehicle record checks. Contractors are responsible for self-employment taxes, and a 1099-NEC is issued for payments.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years old.
• Have a personal vehicle; a 2016 or newer vehicle is preferred.
• Have a valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance.
• Have a satisfactory driving record and pass the required motor vehicle record review and background check.
• Have a smartphone running iOS 13 or later or Android 11 or later, with reliable data service.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Be reliable and punctual, detail-oriented, communicative, and comfortable adjusting to changing circumstances.

Responsibilities

• Complete the Sunday medical courier route from Reseda to Irvine, covering approximately 70 miles.
• Use the driver app for navigation, scheduling, and route support.
• Photograph pickups and deliveries and record proof of delivery in the app.
• Handle specimens carefully and maintain the required room, refrigerated, or frozen temperature.
• Contact dispatch promptly if items appear damaged, improperly packaged, or otherwise concerning.
