About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Courier to join its team in Roanoke, Virginia. The Courier picks up, transports, and delivers medical specimens, laboratory supplies, and reports while providing excellent service to clients. The role includes using a company vehicle for the route and a handheld electronic device to manage pickups. The vehicle may be taken home and used personally for an optional fee of $125 per month. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 12:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with overtime as business needs demand and rotating weekends. The pay range is $18.00 to $24.00 per hour. Job offers are based on skills, relevant experience, applicable degrees or certifications, internal equity, and market data.

Requirements

No education or experience is required.
Be at least 21 years old.
Have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Demonstrate punctuality and strong time-management skills.
Have strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Be able to problem-solve customer issues.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Two or more years of driver or courier experience.
One or more years of customer service experience.

Responsibilities

Load all supplies needed for daily pickups.
Complete the daily pickup schedule in a timely manner.
Deliver all daily pickups to the branch at the end of the shift.
Handle specimens and laboratory samples safely and efficiently.
Safely operate a company vehicle and obey traffic laws.
Use a handheld electronic device to manage daily pickups.
Work with the dispatcher to handle additional pickups as needed.
Evaluate traffic patterns, alternative routes, and weather conditions as needed.
Pick up, transport, and deliver medical specimens, laboratory supplies, and reports while providing excellent client service.
