About The Position

Rapid Medical is a tech-forward logistics partner for labs, clinics, and health systems. This independent contractor route runs from Santa Barbara to Los Angeles, covers approximately 107 miles, and operates Monday through Friday from 11:00 AM to approximately 2:30 PM. The starting location is Santa Barbara, CA. Contractors located within 15 miles of the start point, end point, or anywhere along the route are well-suited for the position.

The all-inclusive route rate is $130, with mileage, drive time, and expenses factored in. A weekly bonus opportunity is available; the posting lists weekly bonuses of $25 and $20–$100. A $150 sign-on bonus is paid after 30 active days with no call-offs. A training bonus is paid after 30 days with no call-offs. Payments are made by biweekly direct deposit or same-day cash-out, for which fees may apply.

The courier uses a driver app for navigation, scheduling, and real-time support; photographs pickups and deliveries and logs proof of delivery; handles specimens carefully and maintains required room-temperature, refrigerated, or frozen conditions; and promptly contacts dispatch about damaged, improperly packaged, or otherwise concerning items. Rapid Medical provides a branded shirt and bag, onboarding that includes an app walkthrough, route preview, and protocol training, and real-time dispatch support.

This is an independent contractor engagement. Contractors are responsible for self-employment taxes, and a 1099-NEC is issued for payments made. Engagement requires a satisfactory background check and motor vehicle record review. Requirements

• Have a personal vehicle; model year 2016 or newer is preferred.
• Have a valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance.
• Have a satisfactory driving record; a motor vehicle record review is required.
• Have a smartphone running iOS 13 or later or Android 11 or later, with reliable data service.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Be at least 21 years old.
• Pass a satisfactory background check.

Nice To Haves

• Delivery, rideshare, or courier experience is a plus but is not required.
• Vehicle model year 2016 or newer is preferred.
• Live within 15 miles of the route's start point, end point, or along the route.

Responsibilities

• Complete the Santa Barbara-to-Los Angeles route and its stops Monday through Friday.
• Use the driver app for navigation, scheduling, and real-time support.
• Photograph pickups and deliveries and record proof of delivery in the app.
• Handle specimens carefully and maintain the required room-temperature, refrigerated, or frozen conditions.
