About The Position

Rapid Medical is hiring an independent contractor to run the VLA2529PM route in Tucson, Arizona. The route covers approximately 55 miles, runs Monday through Friday, and takes about three hours, with a 5:45 PM start. The start location is 7850 N Silverbell Rd, Suite 108, Tucson, AZ 85743. Contractors located within 15 miles of the start point, end point, or along the route are considered well-suited.

The courier uses Rapid Medical’s driver app for navigation, scheduling, real-time support, and proof-of-delivery documentation. Duties include photographing pickups and deliveries, handling specimens carefully and maintaining required temperatures, and promptly contacting dispatch about damaged, improperly packaged, or otherwise concerning items.

Compensation is an all-inclusive rate of $90 per route, with no separate per-mile pay. A weekly bonus opportunity is listed as $25, and the posting also describes weekly bonuses of $20–$100. A $150 sign-on bonus is paid after 30 active days without call-offs; a training bonus is paid after 30 days without call-offs. Payments are made by biweekly direct deposit or same-day cash-out, which may involve fees. The contractor is responsible for self-employment taxes, and Rapid Medical issues a 1099-NEC. Engagement requires a satisfactory background check and motor vehicle record review.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years old.
• Have a personal vehicle; a 2016 or newer vehicle is preferred.
• Have a valid driver’s license and active insurance.
• Have a satisfactory driving record and pass the required background check and motor vehicle record review.
• Have a smartphone running iOS 13 or later or Android 11 or later, with reliable data service.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Be reliable and punctual, detail-oriented, communicative, and comfortable adjusting to changing circumstances.

Responsibilities

• Complete the Tucson route Monday through Friday, starting at 5:45 PM.
• Use the driver app for navigation, scheduling, and real-time support.
• Photograph pickups and deliveries and record proof of delivery in the app.
• Handle specimens carefully and maintain the required room-temperature, refrigerated, or frozen conditions.
• Contact dispatch promptly if an item appears damaged, improperly packaged, or otherwise concerning.
