About The Position

Aculabs is seeking reliable, detail-oriented Medical Courier Drivers to transport laboratory specimens—including blood, urine, stool, and other samples—from assigned care facilities, field offices, or employees to designated locations. The role requires safe, timely transport and proper handling to preserve specimen integrity and ensure specimens remain secure and undamaged. Drivers follow transport protocols and driving safety requirements, and communicate deliveries to laboratory accessioning personnel. Aculabs is a family-owned diagnostic services company that has served long-term care homes across the Mid-Atlantic since 1972. The position’s schedule is Monday through Friday, 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., with weekend and holiday rotation as needed.

Requirements

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
Must be an insured driver.
Clean driving record.

Responsibilities

Pick up blood and other specimens at designated facilities and deliver them to the respective locations.
Arrive at facilities at designated times.
Safely and efficiently transport laboratory specimens, ensuring they remain secure and undamaged during transit.
Transfer specimen bags from the facility refrigerator to a cooler and deliver them to the laboratory as quickly as possible.
Follow driving laws, traffic regulations, and safety protocols while operating company vehicles.
Inform accessioning personnel when blood has been delivered.
