Medical Billing Customer Service Representative
About The Position
Five Star Solutions is hiring a remote Medical Billing Customer Service Representative to help patients with billing questions. The role is available to people living in Alabama, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Nevada, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with work hours of 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday. Paid training is typically one week and takes place during the same hours.
Requirements
- One year of call center or customer service/office experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
- Ability to multitask and process information efficiently.
- A calm, professional approach when handling challenging calls.
- A patient-focused attitude and commitment to quality customer service.
Responsibilities
- Answer inbound calls about patient statements, insurance payments, and account balances.
- Provide accurate information about patient accounts, billing history, and charges.
- Process credit card payments over the phone.
- Document call details, account inquiries, and actions taken.
- Escalate complex billing disputes and concerns to the appropriate department.
- Deliver friendly, professional service while handling sensitive billing questions.
