About The Position

The Medical Associate supports patient flow in the Orthopedics setting by preparing and supplying examination rooms for scheduled appointments, initiating and tracking paperwork resulting from consultations and examinations, and escorting patients. The role does not include direct patient care or care delivery activities, including taking vital signs. Responsibilities listed are considered essential functions under the Americans with Disabilities Act; related duties not listed are not considered essential functions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–1 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from examination and procedure areas.
• Review scheduled appointments to determine the supplies needed.
• Obtain and set up supplies and equipment in advance.
• Initiate and track related paperwork, including biopsy records, prescription call-ins and renewals, and supply and equipment orders.
• Sterilize equipment.
• Perform related duties as required.
• Do not perform direct patient care or care delivery activities, including taking vital signs.
