About The Position

The Medical Assistant II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties that assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. The role performs all aspects of the Associate Medical Assistant (MA I) role and is fully competent in the clinical needs and functions of the assigned clinic or work location. The Medical Assistant II is expected to work in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

The position is with Covenant Medical Group, part of Providence, whose culture is focused on patient-centered, whole-person care. A $2,000 sign-on bonus is available to eligible rehires and external candidates who meet all payment conditions. For eligible positions with an FTE below 1.0, the bonus is prorated based on FTE. Providence describes its benefits and compensation package as beginning on the first day of employment.

Requirements

• Complete coursework or training through an accredited school that includes hands-on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants; or complete a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program; or complete two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces; or have at least one year of medical assistant work experience that includes obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration.
• Obtain National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
• At least 6 months of healthcare experience.
• At least 6 months of Medical Assistant experience.
