About The Position
MainStreet Family Care is seeking an energetic, fast, and friendly Medical Assistant to support providers and deliver care to patients. The organization provides urgent care, primary care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine services. The Medical Assistant assists with patient intake, assessment, treatment, and discharge. This is a part-time PRN position in Swansboro, North Carolina, with a rotating schedule and possible travel to other clinics as needed. The listed starting compensation is $15 per hour. Pre-employment background checks and drug screenings are required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.

Nice To Haves
- Prior medical assisting experience or education is beneficial but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist providers in caring for patients to support optimal medical care.
- Triage patients promptly according to clinic procedures.
- Document vital signs, weight, and updates to patients’ medical histories before visits.
- Perform lab tests in accordance with clinical guidelines and provider instructions.
- Manage digital patient records and support the transition from paper records to electronic systems.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean and ready for appointments.
- Administer prescribed medications under provider supervision.
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
- Position patients for x-rays according to provider directives.
- Help monitor and manage medical inventory as needed.
