About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is seeking an energetic, fast, and friendly Medical Assistant to support patient care at its Charlotte, North Carolina location. The organization provides urgent care, primary care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine services. The Medical Assistant assists on-site providers with patient intake, assessment, treatment, and discharge, and helps ensure effective delivery of medical care. The role is PRN and part-time, with a rotating schedule and flexibility required. There may be opportunities to travel to other clinics as needed. Clinic hours are subject to change.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.

Nice To Haves

• Prior medical assisting experience or education.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers in caring for patients to support optimal delivery of medical care.
• Triage patients promptly according to clinic procedures.
• Record vital signs, weight, and updates to patients’ medical histories before each visit.
• Perform laboratory tests in accordance with clinical guidelines and provider instructions.
• Manage digital patient records and support the transition from paper records to electronic systems.
• Prepare examination rooms for appointments, ensuring they are clean and ready.
• Administer prescribed medications under provider supervision.
• Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
• Position patients for x-rays according to provider directions.
• Help monitor and manage medical inventory when needed.
