About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is seeking an energetic, fast, and friendly Medical Assistant to support patient care at its Goldsboro, North Carolina clinic. The organization provides urgent care, primary care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine services. The Medical Assistant assists the on-site provider with patient intake, assessment, treatment, and discharge, supporting the delivery of optimal medical care. This PRN position requires flexibility with scheduling and may involve travel to other clinics as needed. The listed rotating schedule works On/On/Off/Off/On/On/On during Week 1 and Off/Off/On/On/Off/Off/Off during Week 2. Clinic hours may change. The position begins at $15 per hour. Pre-employment background checks and drug screenings are required.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
Flexibility with scheduling for the PRN position.
Ability to complete required pre-employment background checks and drug screenings.

Prior medical assisting experience or education.

Responsibilities

Assist providers in caring for patients to support optimal delivery of medical care.
Triage patients promptly according to clinic procedures.
Document vital signs, weight, and updates to patients’ medical histories before each visit.
Perform lab tests in compliance with clinical guidelines and provider instructions.
Manage digital patient records and support the transition from paper records to electronic systems.
Prepare examination rooms for appointments, ensuring they are clean and ready.
Administer prescribed medications under provider supervision.
Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
Position patients for x-rays according to provider directives.
Help monitor and manage medical inventory when needed.
