About The Position
MainStreet Family Care is seeking an energetic, fast, and friendly Medical Assistant to support patient care at its Gastonia, North Carolina clinic. The role assists the on-site provider with patient intake, assessment, treatment, and discharge across the organization’s urgent care, primary care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine services. This is a part-time PRN position with a rotating schedule; flexibility is essential, and travel to other clinics may be needed. The position begins at $15 per hour. Pre-employment background checks and drug screenings are required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Flexibility with scheduling for the PRN rotating schedule.
- Ability to travel to other clinics as needed.

Responsibilities
- Assist providers in the care of patients to support optimal delivery of medical care.
- Triage patients promptly according to clinic procedures.
- Document vital signs, weight, and updates to patients’ medical histories before visits.
- Perform laboratory tests in compliance with clinical guidelines and provider instructions.
- Manage digital patient records and support the transition from paper records to electronic systems.
- Prepare examination rooms for appointments, ensuring they are clean and ready.
- Administer prescribed medications under provider supervision.
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
- Position patients for x-rays according to provider directives.
- Help monitor and manage medical inventory as needed.
