About The Position

Medical Assistants work collaboratively in a clinic or practice environment to deliver excellent patient care under the direction of licensed clinical professionals. They facilitate all aspects of the patient visit experience. This position is in Academic OBGYN and works a day shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of an accredited or approved MA program and MA externship, MA internship, EMT program, or Paramedic program.
• In the absence of a completed MA program, externship, or internship, at least 2 years of clinical experience providing clinical support in a community-based clinic, with standardized testing and evaluation of clinical skills.

Nice To Haves

• Medical Assistant certification through a recognized certifying agency: AAMA (CMA), AMT (RMA), NCCT (NCMA), NHA (CCMA), NAHP (NRCMA), or AMCA (CMAC).
• New graduate or at least 1 year of previous clinical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up rooms and prepare patients.
• Take manual and electronic vital signs.
• Perform EKGs.
• Draw blood and administer injections and immunizations.
• Perform point-of-care testing and other office tests.
• Perform pharmacology-related duties.
• Complete administrative duties.
• Perform or assist with in-office procedures and treatments.
